Rock began in 2004 when God put a vision on James' heart for a kids holiday program in Clayton. Fresh from serving on a children's holiday program by the beach, a desire was stirred to provide a simular program for kids back home.

Back home was Clayton, where James decided to approach some of his close friends, Nick and Ange Crawley, regarding running the holiday program. Nick and Ange (of green gables) were delighted to find a kindred spirit as they had already had discussion about running a holiday program in the Clayton region. Now that the three of them had the same vision and a heart for doing a holiday program in Clayton the process began. Deciding that they needed a little more experience in the way of running a organization they decided to call on the experience of two gents from their local church (St Andrews Presbyterian Church, Clayton). Peter U’Ren and Des Gaffney, who both had done many hours of children’s programs, became the final ingredients and the remaining members of the ROCK committee.

Together we are the high five of Clayton holiday programs and our primary objective is to share the good news of Jesus through free holiday activities for kids whilst they are taking a break from school.

Since its inception ROCK has run 6 summer holiday programs, 4 Easter holiday programs (Yes, we have hit 10 Holiday Programs), heaps of church camps, 3 trips to see Colin Buchanan in Richmond and other community events.

The more we run the programs the more we love it and we hope to continue to run more and more holiday programs and other fun activities in the future.
